Six Months of Movement Challenge
A healthier day starts with your journey to university — join our new challenge.
From April to September, try to commute to work or school as often as possible without using a car—be more active, healthier, and enjoy a bigger boost of endorphins.
Walking, cycling, scootering, and public transport all count. Every step, every trip, and every small shift matters.
We’re starting on April 1st!

Questions and answers
Who is organising the challenge?
Sustainable University – the Sustainable Development Office of the UP Communication and Social Responsibility Division.
What if I do not manage to register by 1 April?
Nothing happens, you can register later as well – the important thing is that from that moment you try to travel to the university without a car and at the end of the month fill in a short form on how you did.
Does public transport count?
Yes. A journey by public transport usually involves walking or another form of active movement, sometimes even running to catch the bus or tram. You can combine modes – take your bike on the train in the morning and go for a ride in the afternoon to clear your head.
Do I have to go car-free every day?
You do not. The aim is to look for realistic options and your own progress, not a one hundred percent performance. Sometimes a car is simply necessary, but you can still sign up for the challenge.
Do I have to complete the mini-challenges?
You do not, we came up with the mini-challenges as inspiration for you and completing them is neither monitored nor documented – they are only meant to help you with motivation.
What if I do not fill in the form in a given month?
Without submitting each monthly form it will not be possible to include a participant in the final evaluation.
Is the 10 CZK contribution to the UP Endowment Fund compulsory?
It is not. It is a voluntary option to contribute 10 CZK for each car-free day to the UP Endowment Fund and thus gain extra motivation to complete the challenge.
